If a lot of acidity affects the pancreatic juice and as a consequence this becomes less alkaline, the food reaches the intestine too acidic and cause diarrhea. The alkaline water will help in this case.

Dealing with constipation is a little bit more difficult to understand. In some clinical experiments with 15 patients that had problems of chronic constipation from at least one year, the doctor measured the time food went through the intestine, before and after drinking alkaline water. Each one of the patients were asked to drink a liter and a half of alkaline water a day, the following data were taken before and after the experiment:

In fellows between 39 and 62 years the total time of food digestion process was from 45 to 136 hrs. After taking the alkaline water it went from 3.1 to 73 hrs. The full digestion average process was of 74 hrs. before, and of 40 hrs. later. The percentage of reduction of time went from 6.9% to 88.8%, the average percentage of the reduction was of 51%.

Another discovery was that in one or two weeks every subject reported movement of the intestines at least once a day; we can conclude that constipation is caused by the acidic accumulation in some part near the colon. Alkaline water helps to the secretion of fluids in the colon, eliminating construction of acidic materials, hyperhydrating the interior to unclog it.
